Agents

You can apply for another person or organisation to officially act on your behalf when dealing with us.

Important information

If you haven't appointed an agent, no one but you can access any of your information with us, even if you're under 18.

If your parents or partner contacts us, we can only give them information about their part of your application eg, their income evidence or their form.

An agent is someone you give permission to act on your behalf with StudyLink.

You can appoint anyone you like, eg, parent, partner, or an organisation. You can have more than one agent, but you need to complete a form for each one.

You can decide what you want your agent to do, eg:

  • discuss all or some of your applications with us
  • receive your payments
  • receive your mail
  • change your contact details.

Currently, agents are not able to create or access MyStudyLink.

  1. Fill out an Appointment of agent form.
  2. Your agent needs to fill out their part in the form.
  3. Provide 2 verified documents that prove who your agent is, eg your agent's:
    • birth certificate
    • driver's licence
    • Community Services Card
    • business card (if your agent is an organisation or company)
    • letter on official letterhead (if they're an organisation or company)
  4. Log in to Connect and upload your form and documents.

Receiving your payments for Student Allowance or Student Loan

If you want someone else to receive payments for your Student Allowance, Student Loan or scholarship, you can change your bank account to their's using MyStudyLink. You don't need to fill out an Appointment of agent form. However we take no responsibility for any payments you don't get.

You'll need to complete a new Appointment of agent form.

Email us or call us to tell us that you don't want them to act for you anymore.

You should also let your agent know that you no longer want them to act on your behalf.
