Set your PIN for your payment card

29 July 2024.

From 29 July you can set a personalised PIN on your payment card, to keep the money on your card safe and secure.

A payment card is a reusable green card, like an EFTPOS card. They're an easy way to pay for one-off items and services, like food, dental treatment or glasses.

What's changing

Right now, when you use your payment card, you use the last 4-digits on the card as the PIN. From 29 July you can set your own PIN, making your card more secure.

If you have a payment card, it's a good idea to set your PIN now so your card is ready to use if you need it.

Important information

From 23 September you must have a personalised PIN set to use your payment card. You won't be able to use the last 4-digits on your card, and if you don't have a personalised PIN set the card won't work.

Set your PIN in MyStudyLink

It’s quick and easy to set your PIN online in MyStudyLink, by going to ‘My payment cards’. You can also use MyStudyLink to reset your PIN if you forget it. MyStudyLink is available at any time, and you don’t have to pay for data when you use it.

If you can't use MyStudyLink, you can call us. When you're asked what you’re calling about say, "set my card PIN".

Read the full process for how to set your PIN:

Setting your PIN

How to use your PIN

You enter your PIN when you're at the checkout, after you've swiped the card and selected the CHQ option. Enter your personalised PIN, and then sign the receipt.
